Cartooning and Comic Book History-Cancelled

July 10 - July 14

8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Program Fee: $225

New Camp

Students will explore the process of creating characters and comics, from initial idea to completed page. Have fun with penciling, inking and coloring your own comic page. At the end of one week each child will have a 2-3 page comic story all their own!  Learn “tricks of the trade” from creating humorous “funny pages” to realistic illustration. Students will have the opportunity to hang their completed comics in a gallery space for a group critique and show that parents are encouraged to attend. Campers will also watch award-winning animation during this new one-week camp!

The camp is being led by Sydney Martin.  Sydney is studying drawing at the University of Florida. She illustrates for the advocacy-journalism magazine, The Fine Print, and is working towards becoming a children’s book illustrator.  Program fee is $225.
