Based on the beloved Disney animated film and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.
In this two-week musical summer intensive, students will rehearse to prepare for a Friday evening performance: Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS, which takes place on the second Friday of the camp. Students will receive solo and group instruction to develop their drama, dance, and vocal skills while having fun and making memories. Students will audition for parts, and we will block, choreograph, and learn music for our show. Absences from camp will affect casting. Students who are not present WILL have lines/solos reassigned and may have to sit out for some songs/scenes that were learned during their absence. While this camp is a lot of fun, it’s also a lot of work!
In addition, this camp also incorporates our brand-new design and production components. Get hands-on experience with all the design aspects of theatre, such as lighting and costume design. These classes are an excellent introduction to all the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into producing a show. Professionals from the industry will be brought in throughout the camp. Watch out, parents—we’ll WOW you with a performance on the last day of camp!
