Grab your helmets and join Coach Kelly Neale for this week long journey meant to improve your bike riding skills, enhance your understanding of bike safety, and enjoy nature and friends in the great outdoors! This camp provides a hands-on, educational way for children to master the art of bicycle riding, both on paved roads and off road trails with safety in mind. Increase your skills and confidence by learning about gears, shifting, pedal cadence, rules of the road and how to stay safe when riding. Riding will take place on the OHS campus in traffic free areas and will culminate in a trip to ride at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. Mountain biking is simply riding on single track trails made for mountain bikes. Trails are not paved but consist of hard packed dirt. It is a passion of mine and I would love to expose both kids and their families to explore this fun sport. We can’t wait to work with your kids!
Required equipment includes a mountain bike with at least 20 inch wheels, a helmet, bike gloves, and a Camelbak or water bottle on the bike. Participants should be able to ride a bike without assistance prior to this camp as this camp is for proficient riders only and not intended to teach kids how to ride a bike.
