Project Invention (National Inventors Hall of Fame Educational Program)

Instructor: Mrs. Donna Muller, MSEd

Oak Hall School’s Director of Educational Technology; the Distinguished Scholars Program’s Integrated Science Coordinator; Science Chair department chair; and Upper School Computer Science teacher with over 15 years of experience in PS to 12^th grade STEM education.

Mrs. Muller will lead students to a growth mindset encompassing essential skills and traits demonstrated by innovators through hands-on exploration, including:

• Confidence
• Intellectual Property

Participants will complete 2 modules in this week-long session.

1. STEM Maker Lab:

Students will explore what it takes to be an inventor and entrepreneur as they use biomimicry to solve invention challenges. During the hands-on investigations, participants will experience design engineering, prototyping, marketing, entrepreneurial, and intellectual property concepts.

2. Circuit Sculptures:

Campers will explore dynamic connections between science and art by designing one-of-a-kind sculptures. Student’s imaginations are powered up as they use mechanical and electrical energy to make their unique sculptures light up, rotate, and move!

Program fee is $300 if registered by April 15th. Program fee is $325 if registered April 16th t0 May 15th; Program fee is $335 if registered after May 15th.

• Drop off is located in the multipurpose room of the Lower School.
• Morning Care is available from 7:30am to 8:30am at no additional charge
• Morning Care is only available for morning and full-day campers
• If attending a morning session only, pick-up is at 12:00pm in the multipurpose room of the Lower School.
• Campers may extend their day and purchase the “extended afternoon option”.  Pick-up begins at 4:00 pm and is located in the multipurpose room at the Lower School
• Aftercare is available for extended afternoon campers until 6:00pm at no additional charge
